Many are aware of the awesome benefit wearing hearing aids can bring, such as being able to hear conversations more clearly, enjoying social situation with family and friends and the safety benefits of being able to hear one’s surroundings properly.

Yet, did you know that there are possible “side effects” of wearing hearing aids?

Before I get to that, did you also know that between 2000 and 2010 (10 years in the USA):

  • Breast Cancer deaths dropped 2%
  • Prostate Cancer deaths dropped 16%
  • Stoke Deaths fell 23%

Yet, Alzheimer’s related deaths increased a whopping 68% and, by 2050, costs to society for Alzheimer’s are could eclipse $1.5 Trillion, with no cure in sight.

Thus, going back to the question, about the “side effects” of wearing hearing aids, one newly proven “side effect” is:

WEARING HEARING AIDS REDUCES THE RISK OF COGNITIVE DECLINE!

Yes, new evidence proves that hearing aids are a prevention against accelerated cognitive decline associated with hearing loss.

Thus, in today’s world, we must now look beyond just communication but how an untreated hearing loss can be detrimental to one’s safety and long-term health.

On the flip side, early detection and correction, using properly prescribed and professionally fit hearing aids can benefit a user’s communication skills, safety, well-being and long-term mental health!

It is imperative, then, that if you or a loved one has or may have an issue with the lack of proper hearing, please call contact any of our 6 offices in Hawaii for a free hearing screening and consultation. It may be the best long-term choice you make.

Came in yesterday for my mother due to an ad invite for a new hearing device and instead got more than we came for, a thorough ear/hearing tests and insurance options expert advice without sales pitch hint. Dr. Wesley Nakamura's patience and knowledge made us feel comfortable and he genuinely wants to help us, putting our best interest first. Neat and clean office with super friendly staff! Too bad Yelp only got 5 stars when I could easily give it a 10! Thank you Wes and the staff !!! Aloha! - Andy andy hawaii 5 star review

I took a hearing test there and had the best experience ever! Dr. Nakamura is really generous, friendly, and heartwarming. He made sure if I felt comfortable when I am in the small room for the hearing test. He knows well with hearing aids and he fixed feedback of my hearing aid like in 5 minutes. The feedback bothered me for a long time but it got so much better. He speaks Japanese very well, too. I would definitely come back to here if I ever get a problem with my hearing aids. Thank you so much!! - Manae mane hawaii 5 star review
